FAQ

Straight answers for South African SME owners considering a Business Technology Partner.

Common questions

What is a Business Technology Assessment?+

It is a structured review of how your business uses websites, sales, marketing, operations, security, AI, and reporting. You receive a health score, practical recommendations, and a clear next step—usually a consultation booked on WhatsApp. The Assessment replaces the previous Free AI Audit as the broader Business Technology Assessment, and includes technology and AI readiness.

How much does it cost to get started?+

Published starting prices are on our Pricing page. We productise entry offers such as websites and care plans, then phase larger systems work. Exact pricing depends on scope—start with the Assessment so we diagnose the right first step, not the most expensive one.

How long does a typical project take?+

Digital cards typically take 1–2 weeks. Custom business apps typically take 4–12 weeks. Many SME website projects land in a matter of weeks once content and decisions are available. Milestones are agreed upfront so you see value early.

Do you offer phased payments?+

Yes for larger projects: deposit, beta, and go-live milestones. Details are confirmed in your proposal.

Who owns the code and data?+

Business data belongs to the client; exports are available on request. Code ownership and licensing are set out in the project agreement.

Is hosting included?+

Go-live includes a secure HTTPS cloud URL. Ongoing hosting, updates, and support are covered via a monthly care plan.

Do you help after launch?+

Yes. Hosting and care plans cover maintenance, updates, and agreed change allowances so you are not left hunting for a freelancer when something breaks.

Are you POPIA compliant?+

We design with privacy in mind: clear consent on forms, purpose limitation, and sensible access control. See our POPIA and Privacy pages for operator details.

Can you migrate data from old systems?+

Yes where feasible. Legacy systems (for example Microsoft Access) are scoped and quoted separately.

What tech stack do you use?+

We build primarily with Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, and Supabase on Vercel.

Do you provide training?+

Yes. Custom app packages include training (video or on-site in Cape Town / Eerste River). Extra sessions are available on request.

Can we message you on WhatsApp?+

Yes. WhatsApp is a primary booking and enquiry channel for VonWillingh Online. Use Book via WhatsApp anywhere on the site.
